For the first time ever a new US Postal Service stamp has been unvieled in Yakima. The new apple post card stamp was unvieled at a ceremony in Yakima at the central post office at 3rd and Washinigton.  The stamps feature four apple varieties, two of which are grown in Washington State.  The Washington varieties featured are Granny Smith and Golden Delicious. The other two varieties, the Northern Spy  and Baldwin are grown in the Northeast.   This is only the third time a new stamp has been unvieled in Washington and the first time a stamp has been unvieled in Yakima.
The new apple stamps are now available in Yakima and across the country.
