Florida Is Where All The Cool People Go -And Everyone Else Too –Dave’s Diary
Some people like to get away from it all. (Might we suggest our Deal of the Week featuring a half priced great camping experience?) While others like to go where everyone else already is,
and more and more that seems to be Florida.
New figures just out from the Census Bureau show that a retirement community in Florida called The Villages is the country's fastest-growing city in America, and that in fact six of the 20 fastest-growing U.S. metro areas are in Florida.
Florida has become so popular (WHY?) that it has now passed New York to become the third most-populous state, after California and Texas. Every day there seems to be some kind of kooky or strange or deadly story coming out of Florida and yet it continues to draw new residents.
The Villages, which is located northwest of Orlando, had a 5.4 percent increase in population to 114,000 residents from July 2013 to July 2014. Among the top 20 fastest-growing metro areas, the closest to Yakima were Bend, Oregon at number 7 and Boise, Idaho at number 20.
