Flood waters that hit the Yakima Valley March 6 through March 10 caused more than $500,000 in damage to homes and property. Kent Catlin Deputy Director of the Yakima Valley Office of Emergency Management says they're still taking damage reports. He says he's hoping the state will move in to help residents who suffered damage. "If we can meet a thresh hold of damage and compare that to the number of people who are uninsured the state could come in with some low cost no cost loan programs for homeowners." The current damage costs from 29 different reports stands at $587,421 but Katlin says he expects that figure to rise as people continue to file damage reports until the deadline of March 19.
