Lots of snow has fallen in the Yakima Valley but spring and flood concerns are right around the corner says Horace Ward with Yakima Valley Emergency Management. Ward says they're prepared for the worst and hoping for  best. He's hoping they won't see another high water event on South 40th Avenue near Highway 12 after repairs to a levy were made along the Naches river last year. "Hopefully it won't flood again this year. But if it does there's a plan in place to protect the businesses on 40th and re-route the water so that it doesn't impact the lakes and again flood those areas."
Ward, the Operations Manager for Yakima Valley Emergency Management says homeowners around Lake Aspen and Willow Lake have put together their own response plan in case flooding happens again.
Ward says they're watching the forecast and hoping for a gradual warm up to spring.
