Fisher Park Golf Course Parking Lot Paved This Week

When all the work is finished more people will be able to park in the Fisher Golf course parking lot. The work to pave the lot starts Wednesday. As a result traffic on a section of 40th Avenue will be disrupted on Wednesday, April 8th and Thursday, April 9th. The northbound lane of 40th Avenue between Arlington Street and Webster Avenue will be closed on both April 8th and April 9th from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm while the parking lot is paved. Traffic will be restricted in the project area to one lane northbound and one lane southbound during the same time period both days.
The Fisher Park Golf Course parking lot has been nearly doubled in size. The lot now has 23 spaces compared to the 10 spaces it previously had. The City of Yakima, which owns the golf course, decided to expand the lot because parking spaces located across 40th Avenue have been removed to make way for new Eisenhower High School sports fields.
