Firefighters Killed Identified By Forest Service

The US Forest Service has identified the three fallen firefighters who died battling wildfire near Twisp on Wednesday. 20-year-old Thomas Zbyszewski from Carlton, 26-year-old Andrew Zajac from Winthrop, and 31-year-old Richard Wheeler from Wenatchee died after flames overtook their vehicle in the Woods Canyon area Wednesday. Four more firefighters were injured and one of them remains in critical condition in Harborview. That firefighters has been identified as 25-year-old Daniel Lyon. Family members say Zbyszewski was working as a firefighter to pay for tuition at Whitman College.
