Firefighters throughout the Yakima valley were busy Tuesday with brush and grass fires as they also battled the heat. Firefighters were able to douse a 160 acre fire on Chinook Pass about 12 miles west of Yakima that was contained Tuesday night. Firefighters also battled a grass fire west of Reservoir Loop Road in North Selah. In the lower valley firefighters were also busy with two haystack fires and another grass fire was contained in the Gleed area Tuesday night. And on Fort Road in the lower valley a grass fire was sparked after a semi truck of hay caught fire. All the fires are under investigation today as firefighter brace for another hot day in the Yakima Valley.
