It's hot and dry and Yakima County fire officials are warning about fire danger.

Yakima County Deputy Fire Marshal Don Lindell says besides the obvious ways to start a fire he says there a many other non traditional ways a big blaze could start in the valley.

“You can start a big fire by simply backing your car into some dry weeds. Or you burn a pile of brush and it gets away from you.”

Lindell says the bottom line is to just think and be careful when you are outside.

He says despite campfire bans and other warnings firefighters across the region are concerned and urging caution so another big fire doesn't start in Washington State.
