I’ve often heard that it is a woman’s prerogative to change her mind. You can add to that the prerogative to take her time and both concepts are in play in the push to put a woman on the face of the revamped sawbuck. After being flooded with ideas the Treasury Department is delaying its decision on which woman will appear on the revamped $10 bill until sometime next year.

Treasury reports they have many more ideas than originally anticipated so they plan to take additional time to carefully review and consider a range of options to honor the theme of democracy as well as the notable contributions women have made to our country.

The Treasury Department had earlier this year asked for ideas from the public on who the woman who'll grace the $10 bill should be. The current $10 bill features Alexander Hamilton, the first Treasury secretary of the U.S. The new bill is expected to debut in 2020.

For my money Treasury should put Oprah on the new ten. After all, who has made more of them in the past 20 years than her!
