No ruling today in the Federal voting rights case in Yakima. That from City Manager Tony O'Rourke. A federal judge was expected to make a ruling in the case Today and choose which voting plan should be implemeted in Yakima but the judge called a hearing of both parties today to discuss issues and answer questions the judge may have. "as a result the attorneys say the judge wont' provide an actual ruling until the 3rd or 4th week of this month."  When the decision is issued the City of Yakima will have 30 days to decide on an appeal. Earlier this year the judge ruled in favor of the ACLU which sued the city over it's current election system that the ACLU maintains doesn't give enough of a voice to latinos in local elections.
