Family Of Six Escape Flames Of House Fire In Yakima

The American Red Cross is helping a family who escaped a house fire on Friday night in the 800 block of South 50th Avenue. The fire was reported just before midnight. A neighbor noticed the fire and knocked on doors to awake the family of six so they could escape. All six were taken to a Yakima hospital for smoke inhalation treated and released. The cause is under investigation. Damage is estimated at $100,000.
