SEATTLE (AP) — Fallen trees were blocking multiple lanes of northbound traffic on Interstate 5 in downtown Seattle.

Washington State Patrol troopers said on Twitter Thursday night that trees were across the road on I-5 near the West Seattle bridge and that only the carpool lane was open.

Trooper Rick Johnson said at about 9:30 p.m. there were "major delays" and that the road would be down to one lane until at least midnight.

At about 8:30 p.m., the Washington Department of Transportation tweeted that on Highway 99 at 102nd Street in Seattle, fallen trees were blocking one northbound lane.

No injuries were reported.

The National Weather Service said 1.63 inches of rain fell in Seattle Thursday, making it the wettest February day in the city in 21 years.
