The political fights on social media probably won’t go away with today’s election but maybe that’s ok in some ways.  Sure it can be annoying, enraging, dispiriting and depressing but new research from the Pew Research Center says such “conversations” do make a difference.

The Pew people found that 20 percent of social-media users actually modified their stance on a political or social issue because of something they saw posted to social media. That is the hope for most of us who do battle there.

In addition,17 percent reported that social media helped alter their perspective on specific candidates, including Hillary, Donald and Bernie.
