The extended rock blasting closure planned for tonight is moved to Thursday night, but drivers still need to plan for an hour of added travel time tonight on Interstate 90 over Snoqualmie Pass.

The Washington State Department of Transportation and contractor crews will close I-90 in both directions from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, from Gold Creek (milepost 56) to Price Creek (milepost 61) for rock blasting-related work.

On Thursday, June 6, crews will close I-90 starting at 7:30 p.m. in both directions from Gold Creek (milepost 56) to Easton (milepost 70). Crews are working in an area that has a lot of weak, fractured rock and has the potential to produce a substantial amount of material. Drivers need to understand that a reopening time all depends on how much debris comes down onto the roadway. Drivers need to plan for two or more hours on Thursday night.
