Yakima County voters turned down a sales tax proposal but gave a thumbs up to funding for the Selah pool in Tuesday's primary election The sales tax proposal failed 53 to 47 percent , it would have would have funded security upgrades at the county jail. Now the money will come from an already depleted county road fund.

Voters in Selah overwhelmingly supported a measure to keep open the city pool. Nearly 80 percent supported the measure that will continue funding for the community pool.
