East Side Pool A Top Priority For Yakima City Council

The Yakima City Council Tuesday directed city staff to determine the cost and options to fund a new pool proposed for Martin Luther King Jr. Park on South Ninth Street. The city pool committee presented a report to the council Tuesday that also named the former Yakima Speedway property. Council members however say the best place for the new pool is the park.
An East side pool has been named as a top priority for the Yakima City Council. The city hasn't yet determined the final cost but city staff hopes to have a report ready for council members possibly by the end of the week.
