Early Morning High Speed Chase Ends Suspect Runs Away

yakima-county-sheriff-carThe Yakima County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a suspect who led them on a high speed chase early this morning.
A deputy tried stopping a car for speeding near E Branch Road and Highway 22 near Toppenish. The suspect stopped at first, then drove off and the chase continued through Toppenish. During the chase a deputy saw a gun being thrown from the car as the chase continued to the city of Grandview hitting speeds higher than 100 miles per hour. The suspect eventually lost control of his car in Grandview and crashed into a home. He then ran away and police are searching for him Today. No injuries were reported in the home.
Deputies recovered the gun.
An investigation continues today.
