Yakima Police have released the names of the driver and passenger critically hurt in a high-speed crash in Yakima early Sunday morning. Twenty-two-year-old Jessica J. Camacho has been identified as the driver of the car that crashed into several trees on West Yakima Avenue. Her passenger has been identified as 35-year-old Homero A. Esquivel. Both are being treated at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Yakima Police say Camacho was traveling at a high rate of speed as she headed west on Yakima Avenue near 14th Avenue just after 2 a.m. when she lost control of her car near Portia Park and crashed into several trees. The impact cut the car in half and ejected Esquivel.

A preliminary investigation indicated that speed and alcohol may have been contributing factors in the accident. The Yakima Police Department is investigating the incident.
