“while visions of  sugarplums danced in their heads”.  Sweet dreams are made of these during the Christmas season but not all dreams are so sweet.  In fact, some dreams get right down aggressive, hostile and even homicidal!  The question then becomes --Do you think your dreams have any impact on your waking life?

A new study out of Germany finds they may. German researchers studied the character traits and dreams of over 400 college students. About 19 percent of respondents reported dreams in which they committed murder, and men reported higher numbers of aggressive dreams than women.

People who tended to be more aggressive in their waking life tended to have aggressive dreams more often. Also, introverted people tended to have more aggressive dreams, perhaps because their true emotions played out in their dreams.  In sleep, both social/emotional extremes can lead to murder!

Some critics call the findings fishy, though, as a previous study found just one percent of men and 0.2 percent of women reported dreaming of committing murder. (Fox)
