It can't get much worse than this.  The Mariners have now lost seven straight games after losing to the lowly Houston Astros 7-2 last night at Safeco Field in Seattle.  The Astros snapped their own seven game losing streak by pounding Felix Hernandez, sending King Felix to his first loss of the year. Hernandez game up six runs, four of them were unearned thanks to a Kyle Seager error in the sixth inning.

Matt Dominguez homered and drove in three runs, Dallas Keuchel struck out a season-high eight.

Hernandez took the major league lead with 43 strikeouts after recording four, but was unable to avoid his first loss of the season after shaky defense put the right-hander in a tough situation in the sixth.

Keuchel (2-1) deftly navigated the Mariners for six innings, allowing six hits and a walk, but just two runs.

The Mariners seven game losing streak is the longest current losing streak in the majors.  Seattle plays Houston again tonight at Safeco Field. The struggling Erasmo Ramirez is on the mound for the Mariners while Collin McHugh is on the mound for the Astos.
