Yakima city officials are getting close to approving a downtown master plan but public input is still needed.

City Manager Tony O'Rourke says city consultants have brought together all the ideas from previous meetings and have created conceptual drawings for people to view. O’Rourke says that they “want the communities' input on if are we doing the right thing or not?"

A series of meetings will begin Wednesday, July 10 in which the city wants to talk about the downtown master plan. O'Rourke says after next week's meeting the council will continue to study the area and come up with a final plan within the next six months.

The July 10 meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. at the Convention Center.
