Downton Abbey Sets Date for Start of Last Season

NEW YORK (AP) — Those ready for the final countdown to the end of "Downton Abbey" can start marking their calendars. PBS says the last season of the British drama will begin Jan. 3. That means the finale will hit the air the first weekend in March. The show has been a ratings bonanza for PBS. And if you're up for a session of binge viewing before the end comes — the network has you covered. The Sunday before the final show, the network will air a marathon of the final season — and a behind-the-scenes program on how the show was made.
