I know people who use honey to sweeten their coffee drinks in the hopes of getting the flavor effect with a natural product without the baggage of the medical complications from too much sugar.   Looks they’ll need to try again.A recent study, published in The Journal of Nutrition, found that honey is just as bad for you as high fructose corn syrup and sugar and the study was funded in part by the National Honey Board.

Researchers from the USDA, the Grand Forks Human Nutrition Research Center and the University of Minnesota had four dozen participants consume honey, sugar or high-fructose corn syrup for two weeks and discovered, after testing the participants' blood sugar, insulin, body weight, cholesterol and blood pressure, that the impact were the same, no matter the type of sweetener.

A 2012 rat study from UCLA showed that a high sugar diet can impair learning and memory by basically slowing down your brain. The Mayo Clinic released a statement earlier this year that said, "there is no need for added fructose or any added sugars in the diet." (Women's Health)

So raise a glass of vinegar and we’ll toast the sourpusses of the world!  (
