The digital age is here and we all need to come to grips with it!  My brother and sister are missing out on a lot of family fun and connection by not being on Facebook and chances are you all know people who refuse to get on board.

But that’s not to say there aren’t negatives about Facebook. In fact, that negative friend you have on Facebook can mess with your mood.

Researchers looked at nearly 700 thousand Facebook users, and manipulated their News Feeds. Some experienced reduced amounts of positive news on their feeds, while others experienced a reduced amount of negative views, while others saw a reduced amount of positive views. The users who saw less positive views began to use more negative words, and those who saw less negative views began using more positive language.

Coincidence? I think not!  Additionally, people exposed to fewer emotional posts tended to post less expressive updates. Researchers note the results contradict a previous study which found that viewing positive posts from friends affects people negatively.

What’s your experience?
