Unless the football game is really really exciting, there’s a pretty good chance you’ll be napping sometime after turkey dinner--but can turkey really be blamed for the napping?

Time magazine is reporting  that the conventional wisdom may not be true --You've heard that turkey contains the amino acid L-tryptophan, which produces sleep-promoting sertonin and melatonin in the body.

But turkey has about the same amount of tryptophan as other meats, and it has an abundance of protein, which is known to combat fatigue. So it's likely the heavy load of carbs that make up the rest of your meal will make you sleepy afterwards-- don't blame the bird! (Time)
