Will voters give black presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson a fair chance?Man of the moment Donald Trump has said he thinks Barrack Obama’s performance as president has soured the American voter on voting for another black man any time soon.   Dr. Ben Carson hopes  he’s wrong.

Trump told a weekend TV news show, “"He (Obama) has done nothing for African Americans. You look at what's gone on with their income levels. You look at what's gone on with their youth. I thought that he would be a great cheerleader for this country. I thought he'd do a fabulous job for the African American citizens of this country. He has done nothing.  They have problems now in terms of unemployment numbers, look at their unemployment numbers. And you have -- here you have a black president who's done very poorly for the African Americans of this country.”

Trumps conclusion is that the euphoria over the nebulous promise of hope and change failed to materialize in a positive way for many voters.  In fact, many of the “changes” are counterproductive to the American way of life!

Time will tell if he’s right—or if perhaps conservatives will rally around an African American candidate who wants only to be identified as just an American…a person with ideas whose beliefs and values that reflect those of a majority of his or her neighbors.

I believe “the Donald” is wrong on this .  Not voting for the right black candidate because of the failed actions of a twice elected black president would be just as wrong as voting for the first black candidate just because they were black.
