People who have not received a flu shot should know it is not too late to get one.

Yakima County is now in the middle of the cold and flu season and more and more people are heading to the doctor's office.

Doctor John Zambido and other doctors in Yakima say they have seen an increase in patients with cold and flu symptoms during the past few weeks and the best thing anyone can do for prevention is getting your flu shot as soon as possible.

“Everyone six months old or older should get a flu shot and take care of themselves.”

Doctors also said that when it comes to kids parents need to make sure they have enough warm clothes when going outside, keep them hydrated when they are sick and treat fever-like symptoms with ibuprofen or Tylenol-based medication.
