Do Men Overeat To Impress Women ?

Talk about counterproductive! Under normal circumstances, how many women do you know who are really turned on by guys who look as though they may overeat? Right! So then why would men eat more around women than they do by themselves or with other men? A new study from Cornell University shows men will eat more food in the company of women than they will with other men.

The study, published in the journal Evolutionary Psychological Science, found that men who dined with at least one woman ate 93% more pizza and 86% more salad than men who dined with only other men. Women's food intake did not differ when they ate with men or women.

Study organizers say the findings suggest that men tend to overeat to show off - you can also see this tendency in eating competitions which almost always have mostly male participants." (Eureka Alert!)
