More road work in the city today before the winter arrives. Today a project involving cleaning drainage ditches will close a ten-block section of Englewood Avenue for most of the day on Thursday, November 17th. No through traffic will be allowed on the portion of Englewood between 56th Avenue and 66th Avenue from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm on November 17th while the project is underway. Crews will clean debris from drainage ditches and will ensure that each ditch section is fully operational.
The project is expected to be completed the same day. Drivers are reminded that the speed limit through all traffic-related works zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.
During the project, traffic delays around the project area are likely to occur. Drivers should use alternate routes if possible until the project is completed.
Access to homes in the project area will be impacted, but will be maintained when possible. Emergency vehicles will be allowed through the project area if necessary.
