LOS ANGELES (AP) — Hip-hop music mogul Diddy has been released on bail from a Los Angeles County jail after an alleged assault at UCLA, where his son plays football.

Jail records show Diddy — whose real name is Sean Combs — was released after posting bail late Monday night, several hours after his afternoon arrest.

The jail records show that Combs' bail was $160,000, but sheriff's officials reached by phone said he posted $50,000. The reason for the discrepancy wasn't clear.

UCLA police say Combs was arrested after an assault at the athletic facilities with a weight-room kettlebell. They did not identify a victim or say any more about the circumstances.

Combs son Justin Combs is a defensive back on the Bruin football team, which was conducting workouts on campus.
