Detectives Investigating Thursday Homicide

Yakima County Sheriff's deputies are searching for a suspect in connection with the shooting death of 35-year-old Dario Alvarado of Federal Way near Toppenish Thursday night. Authorities say they've identified a shooter and are searching for the suspect. An article in the Yakima Herald Republic says Alvarado was out on bail when he was killed. The paper says he was sentenced on a second-degree assault charge in 2015 to a year in jail in connection with shooting a man in the same area where he died on Thursday.
Alvarado's body was found in the 100 block of Winaway Road at about 6:00 p. m. Thursday. The investigation continues Today.

The Yakima County Sheriff's Office is investigating a homicide reported in the Toppenish area on Thursday night. Yakima County Sheriff’s Deputies along with Wapato Police and Yakama Nation officers responded to the 100 block of Winaway road at about 6:00 p.m. Thursday for a shooting. When the officers arrived they found a man dead from gunshot wounds. An investigation is underway. No arrests have been made and no other details were released.
Sheriff’s office detectives were called to the scene to start the investigation.
