More information is being released about Friday's fatal standoff in Selah.

Police say they were on the property with a search warrant for stolen goods in relation to a car prowl investigation in West Yakima when officers shot and killed 30-year-old Jessie Humphrey.

The signal from a stolen iPhone led nine officers to a group of mobile homes on Rushmore Road that started a four-hour standoff. More than 75 officers were involved in the incident.

Deputy Chief John Durand says deputies were approaching Humphrey's residence when, “Humphrey pulled the gun and fired at officers and that’s when he was shot. At this time we believe the subject is deceased.”

Investigators were at the scene Saturday shifting through the hundreds of pieces of evidence left behind.

Neighbors like Steve and George Baum say they are not surprised and were happy authorities were able to resolve the situation.
