Deputies Searching For Man Considered Armed And Dangerous

Yakima County Sheriff's deputies are searching for the driver of a suspect vehicle that fled authorities last week after a report that someone in the vehicle had fired shots at a home in Toppenish. Authorities are searching for 31-year-old Jonathan Vargas of Wapato on charges of eluding and unlawful possession of a firearm. Deputies say Vargas was the driver of a vehicle in a high speed chase after someone in the vehicle fired shots at a Toppenish home. During the chase one suspect jumped from the vehicle and was shot by deputies. The vehicle eventually crashed in Wapato and Vargas fled the area.
