Yakima County Prosecutor Joe Brusic has a deadline Friday to decide on whether to seek the death penalty in the case of a man accused of the March 26 killing of two employees of the Yakima MoneyTree business. But Brusic says it's likely the deadline will be continued as per the request of defense attorneys during a hearing in Yakima County Superior Court on Friday morning. "They're still obtaining information that I want to take into account. And we're also trying to gather as much information as well." Brusic won't say when a decision will be made if the judge allows a postponement of the deadline Friday but he tells KIT News it will be made in a "timely manner." 26-year-old Manuel Verduzco of Selah is charged with the shooting deaths of MoneyTree employees Karina Morales-Rodriguez and Marta Martinez.
