Deadly House Fire Under Investigation In Sunnyside

The cause of a deadly house fire in Sunnyside was under investigation Tuesday. Sunnyside firefighters say a 51-year-old woman died in the fire, which was reported at about 3:20 a.m. at a home in the 500 block of South 13th Street. A man in the home said he tried to rescue the woman but was turned back by the smoke and fire. He was taken to a hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.  The cause is under investigation.  Firefighters say the home had no working smoke alarms.
