Cleanliness is next to friendliness, or something like that.  But what I'm really trying to say is that the City of Yakima is announcing that folks living in a section of Southeast Yakima will have the opportunity to help spruce up their neighborhoods on Saturday during a One-Day Community Cleanup event being sponsored by the City of Yakima, Shields Bag and Printing, Yakima Valley Partners – Habitat for Humanity, Yakima Waste Systems, and the Greater Yakima Chamber of Commerce.Volunteers from Yakima area churches are pitching in for a day of service to provide the person power to support the event.

The city says - "Only households located in the area bordered by Yakima Avenue to the north, Nob Hill Boulevard to the south, 1st Street to the west, and Fair Avenue to the east are eligible to participate in the free cleanup.

From 8:00 am to 1:00 pm, people living in that area can either place bagged or boxed household garbage, tires, scrap metal, recyclables, yard waste, or electronics on the curb near their homes or take those items to a drop site located on the corner of East Arlington Street and South 6th Street."
