A Topping Off ceremony will be held at Yakima's Davis High School Today signaling an end to phased construction project that be completed in August. The Yakima School District Construction Principal Jim Wright says the last steel beam will be put in place during the ceremony but construction will continue through the summer on what the district calls the D building. "That's the educational building along Walnut Avenue and the new gymnasium on the South end of the campus." Wright says all the work will be finished in August. Then he says the school will be fully operational for the next school year free of construction. Today's Topping Off ceremony is set for non at Davis High School.
