Two weeks into the New Year…how’s that diet going?  Make that…lifestyle adjustment to healthier eating?  If you want to try something other than the classic offerings, check out what the Environmental Working Group found in the produce isle.

 ·        One pear has more fiber, potassium, and folate  and less pesticide residue than one apple.

  • ·        A cup of chopped parsley has nearly nine times the vitamin A and more potassium, calcium, and folate than a cup of chopped broccoli.
  • ·        A cup of mashed sweet potatoes has twice the fiber, iron and vitamin A of a cup of chopped raw carrots. (Health  Magazine January/February 2013)
