You may call her “dear” but she might live longer if you treat her more like a “bear”!  A study has found that women who eat three or more servings a week of blueberries and/or strawberries are significantly less likely to have a heart attack than women who don't consume these delicious berries, reports HealthDay News.

Bears love berries and they eat so many they grow fat…don’t tell HER that!  One serving of blueberries or strawberries equals about one cup. The study found that women who consumed the most blueberries and strawberries were 32 percent less likely to have a heart attack, compared to women who ate berries once a month or less.  In addition, the berry benefit held even when other heart attack risk factors were taken into account, including advancing age, high blood pressure, family history of heart attack, body mass index, exercise, smoking, and caffeine and alcohol intake. So….call her your sugar bear and keep the berries coming!
