The Drug Enforcement Administration is now warning police officers and police K-9's of the danger of Fentanyl, a drug 100 times more potent than Herion and a drug that's taken the life of people across the state including here in Yakima. Police are now being warned that the drug can enter the body through skin or a quick inhale posing a danger to police K-9 drug dogs. Yakima Police spokesman Mike Bastinelli. "We don't know the extent of Fentanyl in this community or this state but we know it's dangerous. People are bringing it up from Mexico and making money."
And the drug is impacting communities around the country. And now police officers and K-9's have to worry about the drug as well. Deaths have been reported in Yakima and Seattle so far this year and experts say they expect more deaths in the future.
