Damage is estimated at $1 million dollars after a fire at Fruit Packers Supply warehouse at 1102 North 16th Avenue early Thursday morning. Yakima Fire Department Capt. Jeff Pfaff says firefighters were called to a brush fire on the Yakima Greenway at about 1:40 a.m. Thursday "and on the way they spotted the fire at Fruit Packers Supply."
He says quick action by the firefighters helped to save millions of dollars in product and two businesses in the warehouse. The fire burned cardboard on pallets outside the business.
Pfaff says both the brush fire and the fire at the warehouse remain under investigation. No injuries were reported.
