Today was a little bittersweet as the realities of my time on council coming to an end becomes more clear.  The Yakima Chamber of Commerce’s sponsored the State of the City Report luncheon where members of the City Council took turns highlighting city accomplishments in the areas of public safety, economic development, partnerships, built environment and public trust and then answered a few questions from the audience. It’s the last time I will do that as a council rep and I have to say it felt a little strange.  I hate the fact that my council service has been prematurely cut short by a federal judge with all our projects in motion and even if we prevail on appeal this opportunity is lost.  I have enjoyed doing the work, talking to the people of Yakima and I have a great sense of satisfaction for the progress we have made in the last six years.

Yakima is a great city and we are on the path to an exciting future. I want to thank those who voted for me for the opportunity to serve and to do my best to help make Yakima a better place for all of us.  Thanks.
