Crystal Apple Award Nominations Under Way

As the school year hits the stretch drive, the Yakima School District is looking to reward the best of the best of their teachers.

The district is now accepting nominations for the 27th Annual Crystal Apple awards.

According to information obtained from the school district, the program calls attention to the teaching profession by identifying a few of the many educators who positively impact the lives and futures of Yakima students. Each honoree will win $1,000 at the May 5 event at the Yakima Convention Center.

The school district has nomination forms at their Community Relations Office located at 104 N. 4th Ave. Members of the general public are welcome to submit their nominations by the deadline of March 13.
