SEATTLE (AP) -- A windstorm left more than 65,000 people without power on Sunday morning throughout Western Washington.

But power companies promised Seahawks fans they would do their best to restore power before the game with the Green Bay Packers.

KOMO-TV reports (http://is.gd/DMpyZy ) wind gusts reached more than 40 mph Saturday night, with a 59 mph gust reported at Seattle Tacoma International Airport.

The winds toppled trees and took down power lines.

Puget Sound Energy reported 33,000 without power at some point after the storm. Another 15,000 Snohomish PUD customers lost power, about 12,000 Seattle City Light customers were in the dark and so were about 6,600 Peninsula Light customers.
