Two men are in custody accused of three drive-by shootings on Sunday that investigators believe may be gang related.

The Yakima County Sheriff's Office said gangs are a growing concern, but there is no specific unit designated to crack down on gang activity in the county.

Chief Stew Graham said it is hard to have a specified force to monitor gang activity through the sheriff's office because there are only a handful of officers working at a time, responding to calls from both the upper and lower valley.

"We are not in an ideal situation so there are no ideal ways to do that for our agency."

He also said it is difficult because many gang members come from cities around the area, and then leave after they commit their crimes.
