County officials say it is time to sit down and talk about what happened in the Kevin Harper case now that he has been sentenced to more than nine years in prison.

Harper was the prime suspect in a triple murder case in 2011 but mistakes in the case lead to Harper pleading guilty to lesser charges escaping a charge of murder. County Sheriff Ken Irwin says it is time to talk to all those involved..

“I’ve already started scheduling meetings with family and investigators involved in the case and we want to talk. We’re not pointing fingers we just want to talk about what went wrong.”

Irwin is like many others in the community who are convinced that Harper got away with murder. Irwin is just hoping a meeting with the Goggin family members and other investigators in the near future will help explain what went wrong in one of the most important murder cases in the recent history of Yakima County.
