Yakima County commissioners could vote today on whether to allow the recreational sale, growing and processing of marijuana in the unincorporated areas of the county.

Commissioner Mike Leita told KIT News last month that a vote could be on the June 10 agenda. The commissioners have heard from those for and against the recreational sale of pot and have held public hearings on the issue.

It is now up to the commissioners to make a decision.

The commissioners' meeting is set for 10 a.m. at Yakima City Hall.

The city of Yakima has already voted to ban the sale of pot, but the Union Gap City Council recently gave marijuana sellers a thumbs-up, allowing the opening of retail stores in the near future.
