A person who's worked in the Yakima County Clerks office for 24 years wants to be the next Yakima County Clerk. Tracey Slagle has announced she's a candidate for the position of Yakima County Clerk.  Slagle has worked 24 years in the Clerk’s office including the last 18 in management positions.  She is currently in her 3rd year managing the Yakima County Juvenile Courts office. “I want to use my experience to get the Clerk’s office working again for the people of Yakima County,” she said.

“Open communication and cooperation are critical for the Clerk’s office to function properly,” said Slagle.  “Our management staff are more than capable of interacting directly with other departments and agencies.  I will encourage that kind of cooperation and let the managers manage.”

Slagle has served in all areas of the Clerk’s office including extensive time in the courtrooms.  She is experienced and familiar with the state legal system.  Slagle is trained and proficient in state and court software systems, including Odyssey – court case management software, among many others.

Slagle is a 45 year resident of Yakima County.  She and Todd, her husband of 32 years, have two children.  They reside outside of Naches, Washington.
