Council Addresses “A” Street Tuesday Night

Google Maps

The Yakima City Council meets tonight at city hall and among other things it’ll consider renaming “A” Street Jack Pendleton Blvd. after Yakima’s only Medal Of Honor recipient.

Pendleton died in WWII and the Yakima Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 379 and the American Legion in Yakima want to honor the man by renaming the street in his honor.

The City Council put off the decision in August so it could make sure all other requests were considered.

The council is expected to take action in renaming the street. City officials say it’ll cost about $6,000 to make the street name change.

The council meets at 6:00 p.m.
