Improving news for the Cougar Creek fire burning near Glenwood, it is now 25% contained.

Over 500 firefighters are trying to contain the wildfire that has already burned 25,000 acres of timber and tall grass. Strong winds were no match for crews who held onto control lines so far this weekend.

Those who live north of Ladiges Road in Glenwood are still under level one evacuations from the sheriffs office, meaning to "be on alert".

All DNR state trust land in the Glenwood block are closed.
